Gloria Acosta is CWI’s Chief Executive Officer, where she provides overall strategic and operational leadership for the organization. Gloria oversees organizational strategy, financial management, and partnerships with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community-based initiatives.
She brings extensive experience in community-based practice, workforce development, and organizational capacity building. Her work focuses on helping public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community partners strengthen programs that serve diverse communities and improve outcomes for individuals and families.
Raised from infancy in Colombia and Honduras, Gloria is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in Portuguese. Her cross-cultural background informs her commitment to culturally responsive practice and strengthening services for immigrant and multilingual communities.
In addition to her leadership at CWI, Gloria serves as a school social worker with Cambridge Health Alliance, where she provides mental health counseling for adolescents, mostof whom come from immigrant families from Brazil and Spanish-speaking countries across Latin America.
Gloria holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
She loves pets, botanical drawing, gardening, cooking, and dancing to Latin music.
